Alicia is a Transactional Attorney at Denmark Ashby Matricardi LLC, with extensive experience in municipal law, local government operations, and public finance. She brings a unique blend of legal knowledge and hands-on public administration experience to her practice, making her a trusted advisor to cities and public entities across Georgia.
A proud alumna of Howard University, Alicia earned her B.B.A. in Finance before completing a Master of Public Administration at the University of West Georgia. She later earned her Juris Doctor from Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School and has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2018.
Before entering the legal field, Alicia built a distinguished career in public service. She began in the City of Atlanta’s Enterprise Asset Management Department, overseeing procurement, capital assets, and departmental budgeting. She then advanced to the Finance Department, where she spent nearly a decade managing capital projects, preparing the Mayor’s annual budget, and overseeing departments with funding portfolios totaling over $600 million. This experience gave her deep insight into the financial and operational complexities of municipal government.
Transitioning to legal practice, Alicia served as an Associate in the City of Atlanta’s Law Department. There, she provided legal counsel to the Departments of Transportation, Public Works, and Finance, and served as a legal advisor to several city boards, including the Alcohol Review Board and multiple pension boards. Her work included drafting and negotiating contracts, advising on regulatory and statutory compliance, and representing the city in a variety of legal matters.
At Denmark Ashby Matricardi, Alicia focuses on municipal bond work, procurement, contract law, employment matters, and government transactions. She is passionate about supporting local governments and public agencies through thoughtful, strategic legal guidance.
Outside of her legal practice, Alicia is deeply committed to community service and civic engagement. She is an active member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., the Gate City Bar Association, the Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys, and Grace Church International. Alicia has taken on leadership roles in a variety of impactful initiatives, including raising scholarship funds for high school graduates, promoting voter education and participation, combating human trafficking, supporting outreach efforts for the unhoused community, and organizing an annual holiday giving campaign for low-income families. Her unwavering dedication to service reflects her passion for uplifting others and her strong commitment to both the legal profession and the broader community.
